Uttrayan / Makar Sankranti 2011 !!!

My favorite festival - I just love this festival since my childhood days. I think I have spent my childhood doing only two things - flew kites and played cricket. This festival is celebrated on 14th January every year and I do very well remember that I used to fly kites since the month of August (of course whenever there was no rain) and kept flying till mid February.

I missed these festivals twice when I was in Kanpur before I traveled for total 22 hours just to be at my hometown for 15 hours last year. But this time, It was totally different. I planned to be there on 14th morning and was about to be there till 16th night. I was there till 16th night, but I left Pune on 12th January (one day before scheduled departure) just to capture the atmosphere which can be seen in Surat city (specially Dabgarwad, Moti Talkies and Rander) on 13th night. I covered two happening areas i.e. Dabgarwad and Moti talkies of Surat on 13th January !!!

Pune Wine Fest 2010 !!!

Recently I got an opportunity to officially shoot "Pune Wine Fest 2010". Thanks to an informal group "P@P - Photographers at Pune" on flickr - a photo sharing website. After arriving at Pune in September 2009, first thing I did was to join this group.

Then one day, I saw one post on this group page asking for the interested people to shoot Pune Wine Fest 2010. They were to choose 10 people and luckily I made to those 10 photographers. And then there was competition between these 10 photographers. Each photographer was to submit set of 30 images. It was a nice experience for me to shoot such event as this was my first attempt at event photography and even I got to click some nice/unknown faces as portrait photography (especially candid shots) is my favorite.

Sunsets !!!

Sunset is a daily routine of a nature and its beautiful to see it. Its fantastic when you are at beach or at any hill station. Whenever I go to places from where I can see horizon at a long distance in West, I wait till it gets complete dark. Sunset makes some beautiful colourful patterns in the sky and I find it very relaxing as it gives some refreshing moments.
